What I Learned Today....

Word of the Day: life cycle- 1. a series of stages through which an individual or family passes through during its lifetime.

<haha this is so old, it brings back good memories:P>

Hey Guys! I thought that I would devote my Wednesday's to sharing with you, something new I learned.

For instance, did you know that if you are right handed, you will tend to chew your food on the right side of your mouth (and vise versa for the left side)? haha some of these facts I found are really cool and they really make you think. Here's 5 cool facts and some food for thought as you go about your day today:D

1.) Chewing gum while peeling onions will keep you from crying.

man o man, i have the hardest time trying to peel and cut onions without my eyes watering and burning constantly. time to put my bubble gum to the ultimate test!

2.) The roar that we hear when we place a seashell next to our ear is not the ocean, but rather the sound of blood surging through the veins in the ear.

thats soooo cool! haha next time i pick up a seashell i'll have to think about that, i find that truly interesting:)

3.) Bats always turn left when exiting a cave.

hmm well if you ever happen to wander into a cave and get chased by bats...run for the right:P

4.) Laughing lowers levels of stress hormones and strengthens the immune system. Six-year-olds laugh an average of 300 times a day. Adults only laugh 15 to 100 times a day.

hmm a new way to prevent grey hair?

5.) The owl is the only bird to drop its upper eyelid to wink. All other birds raise their lower eyelids.

hmm, this is pretty cool. now that I think about it, its true! I have never seen a bird blink with its upper eyelid! huh...

Well here's to what I learned this week. haha I miss reading the fun facts on the inside of the Snapple lid's.

have a great rest of the day guys:D

Your's Truly,

Caitlyn

  1. What do you think happens with those of us who are ambidextrous? I am one of those crazies. It always draws attention when I write with one hand while eating with the other. I am sure that was more info. than you cared for.

Hope all is well with you. Keep writing, sweet one!
