Flight 836

Word of the Day: Miss- 1. to discover of feel the absence of. 2. to fail to hit, reach, or contact.

Hey guys! I'm officially in Rhode Island, but instead of telling you about my day today which didn't include much except for seeing an old friend, going to my old elementary school, and going to the grocery store, I decided to write about my plane trip out here. I packed a composition notebook in my carry on so that I could write about my trip and post it on blogspot later!

Flight 836:

Hey guys! I'm writing this blog while on flight 836 on my way to Baltimore, Maryland. I figured my flight time would be about six hours and fifteen minutes, but oh wait....the pilot has just informed us that we are landing in Nashville, Tennessee! Ahh, I hope I'm on the right plane:/

8 minutes later....

Okay, well I've asked my fellow passengers next to me and after looking at my ticket, have informed me that I'm on the right plane. I've also asked the stewardess and she agrees that I'm on the right plane. I'll call my mom once I land and just double check, God only knows what would happen if I boarded the wrong plane. I have faith that God will deliver me to Warwick, Rhode Island one way or another:)

It's been exactly three hours and twenty four minutes into the flight, and I've barely experienced any turbulence at all! We're flying over Little Rock, Arkansas right now at 30,000 feet. The captain just announced that we have about 110 miles left to fly and that we will be landing in Nashville, Tennessee in about twenty five minutes.

Over the course of my flight I have been snacking, reading, listening to my I-pod, sleeping, writing (obviously), and observing the older couple sitting next to me.

I learned that their names were Gale and Benny Evans. There was something unique about their relationship that I couldn't exactly put my finger on. Maybe it was the way she looked at him and the way he returned her gaze; maybe it was the fact that he let her put her legs across his lap; or maybe it was the way they would tease and poke each other like little children and laugh hysterically at each other. When I am older and retire with my husband, I hope we'll be just like them.

Gale Evans, I noticed, is eccentric and full of energy. She is always either conversing with her husband, or reading her book called Chances by Nora Roberts.

Benny Evans is a rather quiet man; the type of older man you can tell likes to have his own personal bubble. However, he is extraordinarily patient with his wife's constant requests and questions.

Their personalities complement each other, and the way the tease and laugh together allows me to get a glimpse into how much they really love each other. Their old wrinkled hands entwined together like the bright blue veins that twist around their fingers, his head against her bony shoulder...all the makings of true love:) I can only hope my marriage will turn out to be as wonderful as theirs.

An hour and a half later....

Well, we've landed in Tennessee! Gale and Benny decided to move up a few rows so that it will be easier for them to get off the plane once we land in Baltimore. I just got off the phone with my mom after she assured me that I was on the right plane and, that my itinerary never showed me stopping over in Tennessee . Surprise, surprise!

I decided I would be daring and move to the right side of the plane. I have always sat on the left side of the plane next to the window seat, so I decided to change it up a bit to make the flight a tad more exhilarating. I was joined by new people too. First was a man that looked like the Dahlia Llama (if that's how you spell it) but then he decided to move one seat back. Next was a Hindu woman from India and she was the first one to actually stay. The last person, who sat in the middle of us, was a business man. He was a red head with a small beard and white, freckle-covered skin. His eyes were a deep green and I swore if he wasn't as tall as he was, I would have mistaken him for a legendary leprechaun.

There was a note pad in his seat back pocket that read, "From The Desk of Dan Lenney" which is how we first got talking. I introduced myself and we talked all the way to Baltimore about his job, his family, and other such things. He made adds for stores and newspapers, saying it was pretty good pay, but that it was not his passion. He began talking to me about getting into a good college if I can, even if I was unsure about what I wanted to be. He told me that getting into a good, stable college will help me later on even if I decided to change careers! I asked him what he would do, what his passion would be if he could go back and change his career and further his education. He told me that if he could, he would work for Habitat for Humanity and told me that his passion was working for charity. It was a real eye-opener for me as a teenager because I could feel this man's passion for helping others. He gave me some great advice on colleges I should check out andI don't think I will ever forget him. God bless you Dan Lenney wherever you are!

After landing in Baltimore to get an iced tea from Starbucks, I boarded the plane for Warwick, Rhode Island. I got to see the bright lights of New York City and flew over the Atlantic Ocean! It was great to see four smiling faces waiting for me once I got to the baggage claim., I was so tired and had really bad jet lag.

Once I called my Mom, and bestfriends Samm, Mikey, and Jordan, I went straight to bed. I have no idea what tomorrow will hold for me, but I'm praying that it will be something good. Ta Ta for now bloggers! Hope you enjoyed reading all about my confusing day of flying. God delivered me to Warwick, Rhode Island and he will be sending me home safely in twelve days!

Yours Truly,

Craisin

I wrote this post on June 3, 2009 and finally had time to post it today:) Just to give up a quick update, I have already had once sleepover, rented a red box movie, been to Field Day at my old Elementary School, fought to keep my old principal from being involuntarily moved to a new school, painted two 8 year old girls nails, gotten Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee twice, gone to Sam's Club, gone to the grocery store twice, been hit on by two guys, played Twister, jumped on my trampoline, and been joy riding with my friend Mia!

I MISS CALIFORNIA THOUGH! I CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK:D
